This is Owen's friend Mr. Turtle. We were walking outside for a recess time when we found him. He was just enjoying out backyard. So Owen decided to enjoy him for the day. He got a bucket and filled it with water for him. It was so cute to see him taking care of his friend. He would leave him for school, and lunch, then quickly go back outside to play with him. He let him out of his water to take a walk. It was so sweet to see him walk around the backyard together. But that evening we told him that we had to let him go find his family. Owen was sad, but said "Yeah what if his mama wants to give him a hug" So we put him back exactly where we found him. We have not seen him again, but hopefully next summer he will visit again!!

Yes, hugs from Mamma. Very important. Here's an interesting turtle fact to share...did you know that a male turtle caresses the cheeks of a female to find out if she wants to mate with him?! We learned that one last week at Shining Stars Academy..Matthew's going to start caressing my cheeks too..
